Parson's Academy

Hello, my name is Rachel Parson. I recently moved to this area and decided to open Parson's Academy. I will be teaching using abeka homeschool curriculum. I hold a masters degree in education and thirty credit hours towards my Doctorate in Education. Ilove teaching children. Parson's Academy is dream I developed as a way to help families who want the preschool environment but the small close knit environment of in home daycare. At Parson's Academy you can be assured your child will be safe while learning and having fun. Parsons Academy opens on September 2, 2014. Traditional school days will continue through June. During the summer, camp care will be available. I will only be closed for major holidays. In cases of inclement weather I will remain open but can not guarantee how clean the roads will be. My hours are before school care 6:30-8:15 school 8:30-3:30 after care 3:30-6:00. My rates are before and after $50 and school $150. I do require a $100 non refundable deposit to hold your spot, this due upon signing your child up. This deposit will cover all needed school supplies except a backpack. I will be purchasing a Bible, Phonics, Writing, Art and readiness skills workbook for each child. Your child will be learning: Bible: A daily Bible lesson will be given with a related activity. Readiness Skills: Writing readiness Hand eye coordination Listening skills Thinking skills Writing: The writing tablet from Abeka teaches proper pencil grip. Activities are incorporated that help teach letter recognition, sound, and formation of vowels, consonants, blends, and one and two vow, words. Phonics: The phonics workbook includes sight words, letter blends, and reading readiness skills.
