I have been so content since coming to the nursery school. I always felt like something was off about my previous day care, but thought maybe it was my own anxieties. It turns out once we started Oak Ridge Nursery School all of those anxieties went away. It is a wonderful and very family oriented center to bring your child. I would recommend to anyone looking for a center.

ORNS is a great place for children! We were completely satisfied with the caring service and education provided for our grandson. They are cost competitive for the area and always caring and kind to our grandson and their other students! They provide a varied number of options for work to supplement cost, too. I also love volunteering there; reading to the children. ORNS is a first class child care facility and my family made lifelong friends there!

Awesome program, and sweet people. The rooms are very child inviting, as is the school. All the people are nice, and I feel safe leaving my little in the am. He wil not leave when I come a few days, this is both sad for me, but great
too. My son calls the pm teacher "gran." That is sweet. The director is nice. She talks to me like friend. This year is hard on us, finding this place was a blessing.

Very welcoming! Environment is colorful, and just feels kid oriented. My child looks forward to coming to school in the mornings, which is new for us. It's so nice to see her learning and thriving! The teachers she has are wonderful, and best off I trust them. The director is both sweet and professional. Our little family is very happy here! We shall stay!!!

They are so loving and caring. They have been great to work with us and keep us informed. I feel comfortable with both of my kids being there. I'm so happy we found ORNS!
It's the best in Oak Ridge! My son absolutely loves it here, and has learned so much. With the recent tragedy at Om Baby, I know he is safe, happy, and I am grateful.
I attended here as a kid, and have fond memories of school. I recently visited, since my own child will be starting pre-k soon. I was very impressed by the facility and staff. Glad to see it has remained a great place for children!
No complaints. Good school for the kids.
My family really enjoyed our time at Oak Ridge Nursery School. We're glad my daughter and son will carry positive memories of their first school experiences. We absolutely loved the graduation!
I wanted to counter a comment that was made by "C." Im sure I know who this is. As the child's father I feel I can tell my side of the story. The people at this school were here during a very low point in our life. I feel the comment made was in personal retaliation directed towards me because I chose the school for my son. My son was not only ready for kindergarten he was above his class when he started. The school is not filled with asbestos, and is very clean. The building is old because it's old, but the staff makes it the great place it is. Like I stated previously, these people personally invested in my family's well being during a bad break up and long court proceedings. I could NOT have got through it without that support. My parents live far away so we were alone. I cannot have lies spread about such a nice place and people. Look at the other 5 star reviews, and tell me which review looks out of place! It's common sense.
This center has made my family feel right at home! We recently moved to TN and it was a HUGE transition from, Chicago, my hometown. The people are very down to earth, and we understand southern hospitality here. I feel completely comfortable leaving my son here. In Chicago, we paid much more money for half of the quality of care. We are grateful to have found this school.
Dirty. No one cleans regularly. Old. Out of ratio often in mornings. Asbestos they are aware of but don't care. Children come home looking like orphans filthy. Child came home covered in bug bites. They never applied the creams/bug spray I provided. Dr. Told me to get him out of there.

Can't make up their mind on the cost of tuition. Price goes up but no value added. Harrass people trying to get money to pay them. Some nice teachers that deserve a better environment. Won't provide necessary tax documentation upon request. Childish management that resorts to bullying. Also using my sons pic on this very page without my permission.
My son and daughter both went here. The teachers here were always caring and looked after my children's wellbeing and development. Lisa was both of my children's teachers, and I am so happy she is now director. We were treated like family here. My daughter will still at times mention the red room with Ms Sharon. Great place!
I have always had good experiences here. It's a nice place to be!
I wanted to find a daycare I could feel good about leaving my child. She was with grandma A LOT before coming here! Very spoiled. Like many moms out there I felt guilty I cannot be with her myself. But, i really feel she is happy and learning while at school. After she transitioned, which took awhile I won't lie, she began really coming out of her shell. I can even tell a difference when I'm out in public with her playing with other kids. She is really blossoming into a little busy body! I believe the daycare has really benefited my girl in many positive ways. All the teachers are so nice, and Lisa (very sweet gal) is always receptive to our needs. Everyone is so very pleasant.
My child attends here and I've always been pleased with the service. He seems to be happy when I pick him up and most evenings doesn't want to leave! A kid who wants to stay at his school tells me it's a good school. His first memories of school are good ones and I'm grateful for that.
There are a few main elements I look for in a center. One of them is ratio. I always felt confident my children were being cared for. I never saw a teacher with a group of kids by herself, unless of course there were few kids. Two, caregivers. I felt like the teachers were actually happy to see my kid in the morning. That speaks volumes in my book. Three, safety. The rooms and playground are so spacious. The children have plenty of area to run and play. They are not crammed in one tiny space risking injury due to too close proximity to each other. I enjoy this place and most importantly so do my kiddos. I wouldn't go any place else.
I gave 5 stars because that's what it deserves. I had a wonderful experience during my time this year at the school. We moved here this past year, but I didn't know what a great school was until we enrolled in this one. I only wish my child could have started here. I would recommend this place to anyone with children. It's just a great little daycare!
I love the whole idea of the school. What captured my attention was "parent owned and operated." That made me really feel like I had a say so in my child's schooling. I loved being able to go into his room and help out. I always felt I could go there anytime, and never felt in the way or uncomfortable. The teachers are both loving and down to earth. The director is always willing to drop whatever she is doing to answer a question (or whatever), and does it with a smile. I'm glad I have found this school, and would not go anywhere else.
I wanted to get a group of parents together to put their thoughts in about the school. I sent a post out today requesting they write their honest reviews, and I am so glad so many people are doing just that! This school has been serving the community for over 70 years, as a nonprofit preschool. It has cared for so many children within its walls. This school is a special place to be, and I am honored to be a part of it. The school has consecutively received 3 STARS, the highest rating a school can receive through the state, every year since the program started 17 years ago. This year, we received the Oak Ridger's Best of daycare in Anderson county, voted by the people. Our reputation, longevity, and recognitions speak for themselves. I refuse to give attention to one review that is so grossly false and misguided. I am not only an executive board member, but also a mother of a child at the school. The school has and will carry on with the integrity it always has maintained.
My son, who is now in 7th grade, and my daughter, who just went to K this year, both attended ORNS. We absolutely love this school. The staff treat the children as if they were their own children, and they were both fully ready for Kindergarten. When you walk in you just feel a happy & warm environment. It's non profit, parent owned and operated, and I sat on the board during my sons attendance. It's a wonderful place!

I had to visit the school for the music program that I was tryng to get started for young children. When entering the building you are filled with the faculty and administrators that are warm and friendly. They answered all the questions that u may had.
It's a shame a disgruntled employee, whom was ask to leave due to being unprofessional, is trying to down a center that has been in operation for over 70 years.
I've found this center to be very caring and loving. Many teachers have been there for years and both my children (3 years apart) had the same teachers. I would recommend this to anyone with children!

My daughter attended ORNS for three years. I'm confident in the care and education she received at ORNS. She learned to love school at ORNS, and I'm forever grateful for her teachers and this wonderful first academic experience.
From a former teachers stand point, there is a lot of teacher against teacher , always stabing one another in the back and trying to get someone else into trouble to make themselves look better. The management loves to talk about everyone that works there and parents of the children ,they cut corners when they can . Never had the supplies that was needed, always out of something. No insurance for the staff and no bonus and very few benefits. Alot of turnover with teachers and always 2 to 3 teachers out at the same time and having to double up on the kids in the classroom because there were no subs to call. Always seems to have money missing no matter who runs the center. Certain teachers were favored more and paid when they weren't even there and had used all the vacation. Lots of favoritism !!!

The teachers at ORNS truly care for my children as if they were ccrtheir cruise own. I feel confidently they will not only take great care of my children each day but that they will offer them educational and creative opportunities as well. The teachers strive to offer an exceptional curriculum for the children that includes freeplay too.
I always feel comfortable and confident leaving my child at ORNS. I know he will not only be cared for, but will be learning. This preschool is definitely an extension of our home, and I am grateful for being involved in this family oriented center.
A wonderful, family oriented center. Children are not only cared for well, but are provided with age appropriate activities for development. The best part is it is owned and operated by the parents! This is a not for profit school!! Your family's worth is not based on monetary value. We love it here.
