About who needs care: Needs assistance in home for fall prevention. Uses a walker for ambulation around the house. Occasional balance issues while turning corners or transferring from sitting to standing positions. Requires assistance with bathing and dressing. Very mild memory issues. ( 5ft 7in tall and 175lbs ) Lives with 89-year-old wife who has mild-moderate dementia, but is able to function well at home and able to cook, and do light housework and laundry. Daughter lives less than 5 minutes away, but works in Knoxville 10a-7p Mon-Fri.
About the care needs: Assistance needed with remembering to take medications which are dispensed from an electronic pill dispenser that beeps and opens when each dose is due to be taken. He spends most of his day sitting in his recliner in the living room while napping or watching TV. He walks to the bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen using his walker. He is witty and has a good sense of humor. He is kind and agreeable. Never cross or demanding. He has moderate hearing difficulty and no hearing aid. Former owner of Krebs Chevrolet in Clinton, TN. Couple prefers privacy but is acknowledging the need for more consistent in-home assistance in the near future. Daughter visits daily, each morning and evening and runs all errands, assists with all medical and physical therapy appointments, and finances.
