Kennedy's Child Care Academy

Established in 2002, Kennedy’s Child Care Academy is a privately held corporation founded by Anita Kennedy and the late Theodore Kennedy, Sr. With a steadfast commitment to early childhood development, the Academy has served the community for over twodecades by providing a nurturing, educational, and inclusive environment for young learners. Anita Kennedy, Owner and Executive Director, brings over 23 years of dedicated leadership in early childhood education. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education from the University of New Orleans (UNO), with minor studies in childhood education. Her background as a Health Educator has given her a strong foundation in understanding the typical growth and development of young children. Anita is also a Professional Development Specialist with The Council for Professional Recognition and a certified CPR Pediatric First Aid Instructor through the American Heart Association. Kennedy’s Child Care Academy proudly operates a successful Early Head Start Program, in partnership with CLOVER (formerly Kingsley House), for over 10 years. The Academy is a Type III licensed center and participates in both the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) and the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). With an on-site cook, children are served hot, well-balanced meals daily, supporting their health and wellness as part of a holistic learning experience.
