Cheyenne Mt Early Learning Center

Cheyenne Mountain ELC is a licensed early learning center. Preschool classes are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. , 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week. Each class is $20. Additional care is available by appointment at the rate of $5 per hour. I am a State certified large child care center director and teacher. I have been a teacher in Colorado for 11 years. My specialty is reading. I teach preschool and prekindergarten students in a nurturing home environment. We have two dedicated classrooms and a library/media center. My students enjoy top-notch learning materials and curriculum in keeping with Colorado State Learning Standards. They are kept safe through the use of a state of the art security system. In this literacy-rich program, students learn reading, writing, mathematics, science and nature. The program is enriched with music and movement, art, outdoor discovery and large/fine motor muscle coordination and development. Children learn about other cultures through our social studies units. They learn safety and how to get along with others. They learn problem solving, calming down techniques and life skills to help them cope in the world. Through the use of developmentally appropriate practice, children are encouraged to learn through play. They are able to use all their senses for discovery. They find that learning and school are fun, giving them a true appreciation for education. We are members of The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) both nationally and in the Pikes Peak Region.
