Seeking a babysitter near San Francisco for 2 children. Hoping you can start within months! Laundry: Kid laundry. Meal Preparation: Meals for baby during the day, some shopping and meal prep for family. Light Housekeeping: Tidying up kids stuff and areas. Homework help: Help the second grader with reading, math, and writing work. About the child(ren): We have a 7-year-old girl, C, going in to second grade at our neighborhood school. Our daughter L is 14 months. Most of the job would be with L, but before school with C doing some play and enrichment activities, and after school pickup and activities/appointments. We're in Noe Valley SF and looking for someone soon for our two girls. The baby is L; she's almost 14 months and very engaged and social and mobile (early walker and now a climber). She loves music class and story time and playground -- very out and about. The big kid is C; she's 7 and a half and headed in to second grade. This is a new school, so August is going to be a big transition time for her. She goes to speech therapy and OT for motor and speech/language issues, and getting her to a couple of after-school appointments per week (in the neighborhood; speech is 1 block away and OT is in Duboce Triangle) is part of the job. We have a second car that we can requisition for days when needed!
I teach at a law school) and usually go in 2-3 days a week (sometimes more during intense times) and my teaching days are M and W for the fall semester. I stack other appointments and class prep (and occasional office hours) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but I'm open to having Fridays be an open day.
M and W would need to be really early days (I've got to leave at 7:30 to have my commute be decent); the other days are a bit more flexible. My husband is a doc/researcher at UCSF and keeps a pretty normal schedule of longish days that start early. We have a Portuguese water dog who is great with the kids and goes out with a walker every day.
We live at 22 and Castro, right on the bus line.
We pay over the table but happy to work on numbers. Our current caregiver is leaving to take a FT teaching/school admin job at La Scuola starting in mid- August; she's also going to be gone from July 15-24 for vacation, so if this seems like a promising start, maybe we could do a few trial days somewhere in there.
