Indianola Special Needs Care

Hi! I am currently a senior at the University of Northern Iowa studying Speech Language Pathology and Spanish. I am an organized and trustworthy person who has about 12 years of babysitting experience. I have previously nannied for a family of three children for the past six summers, and I also have younger siblings. I have experience with all ages- from just a few months old to teens. I have experience working with kiddos with differing abilities, as I've been involved in an organization for special needs kids at my university. I am hoping to work with kids in the future. I love coming up with crafts or activities to keep the kids busy! I am willing to help out with any housework or errands as needed. Hope to meet your family soon!

I have acquired many years of life experiences supporting both elders and individuals with disabilities. Some of my most meaningful experiences include working with elders in two newly opened affordable housing independent living apartment communities, being a PCA through Care. com for a young man with mental illness, and parenting an adult daughter with Autism Spectrum Disorder. In the fall of 2018 I moved from Minnesota to the Des Moines area, and currently work as a team with other caregivers to help an elderly couple achieve their goal of remaining in their home instead of in a care facility for as long as possible. In the spring of 2020 I will be receiving End of Life Douala training in order to offer this valuable service as well, and I currently volunteer with a Des Moines area hospice provider.
