Our child has autism. She is fully capable of self care to include cooking, cleaning, and caring for our dog. The issue is that she may need supervision during the time she is home after school. She is very friendly, bubbly and outgoing but she functions fine without it as well. The overall purpose of this is to have someone with her while my wife and I are at work. This will be the easiest job you will have. No issues with temper or hygiene. She will ask a million questions and talk to herself but that is about the extent of her behaviors.

I'm looking for a companion/respite worker for my autistic adult son. Our son, now 28, was diagnosed with autism as a child. He is nonverbal but possesses exceptional receptive language skills. Z enjoys going for walks and rides, as well as listening to music. I'd love to have someone take him out for two hours three days a week. We'd like to spend 3 to 6 hours away from home every other Saturday, in addition to taking him out during the week. Dates and times will vary, but we will book well in advance to make sure you are available. JJ is 39 years old (mentally, forever 4) he is very easy going and loving. He is nonverbal but he easily understands what you are saying and can follow most instructions. JJ wears adult diapers, he does need assistance to go to the restroom and to be changed. He loves to watch movies, play with his toys and interacting with others. We are looking for someone that is fun, Compassionate, and reliable. We do have animals, one dog and one cat. I'm a single mom that works five nights a week as a home health aide/caregiver.
