Head Start is a new daycare service in Goodyear, Arizona that emphasizes quality and affordability. It has been 3 months of preparations and the doors are now open for families to join a safe, fun, and educational environment. Every family can expect the following from their enrollment at Head Start: Curriculum - developed by Nationally Board Certified Special Education teacher, Carrie Hill, to meet the needs of early education for young students. It is designed to prepare children for a life-long enjoyment of learning and an easy transition to Kindergarten. Meals/ Snacks- Well-balanced breakfast, lunch and two snacks offered to all children. All allergies are taken into account and menus are developed and posted for the following week so parents can coordinate their own meals. Life skills- work on potty training, good manners, vocabulary, basic responsibility, clean up, etc. Practical skills are interwoven into all daily activities and accommodate our youngest to oldest children. Free play and Group play- encourages exploration, imagination, sharing, following direction and early social skill development. Exercise- Ranging from outside play, yoga, introduction to sports, tummy time (for the little ones) visits to the park behind the house and splash play in the summers. Physical activity is included in the daily curriculum. Daily updates/reports- Parents are appraised of their kids' activities with take home crafts, a specialized Facebook page for photos, individual text messages, and take-home folders for each child with the weekly menu, schedule, and relevant information. As the daycare provider, I bring over 10 years of experience with teaching internships at the elementary school level, lead Pre-Kindergarten instructor at the Little Gym and coaching youth sports through the city. I have CPR certification, Fingerprint and background clearance, and a current (negative) TB test. More importantly, I am personally invested in the program and I relish the opportunity to spend my career raising my own two girls in an inclusive and social environment. Full time enrollment is $125/week and limited to 6 kids, however the options are unlimited including part-time, drop-in, and Friday Date-Nights. A service menu and informational documentation will be mailed upon request and a home tour can be scheduled during evening hours. I look forward to meeting you!

Lindsey K. says "This is a fun loving environment that I feel comfortable leaving my two kids out when I am in a crunch and need help with child care."

Hello, thank you for taking the time to review my page. I was a licensed in-home child care provider for 15 years in Sacramento, CA and have raised 3 of my own children. I moved to Surprise, AZ in 2011 to take care of my mother. She has recently moved to Oregon to live with my brother, and I have decided that I love Surprise and will not be returning to CA. I have re-opened my child care business! I believe that finding "good quality child care" begins and ends with a proper match philosophy; therefore, I am primarily interested in finding out the objectives, beliefs, and needs of the parents. We all want the best for our children. My in-home child care facility is an extension of and support for your family. My goal is for every child in my care to learn and grow in a safe, comfortable home environment. I decided to focus primarily on infants and young children because I believe that they develop more rapidly and securely in a home setting. I also teach a wonderful well rounded preschool program that includes Math, Reading, Science, Physical Education, and Music appreciation that is included in your monthly tuition. I have been background checked and fingerprinted by the State of Arizona Department of Public Safety and will provide a copy of my card for anyone who requests it at the time of our interview.

I am a mom of two girls ages 10 and 7 and one boy born in April of this year. I love children and wanted to be a teacher my whole life. While in high school I took several classes focusing on children such as child development and working and living with children. I was a stay at home mom for three years then went to culinary school and got a degree in baking and pastry. So I do have a Food Handlers card. I have returned to being a stay at home mom and because my kids are older and I have returned to taking care of children. I am willing to care for any aged child from one to school age. I will not be setting your children in front of a TV all day. I believe in crafts learning and playing outside. For children that are old enough to eat table food I will provide a healthy snack and lunch. I have a clean home in a new neighborhood with a park a three minute walk away. We also take field trips to the park library and splash pads as well as play groups to interact with other children. I have babysat numerous children in my life and have a large family with lots of kids. I can and will provide references if you would like. I am willing to work with your work schedule. Please call if interested. I'm very excited to have the chance to spend time with your child.

Stephanie W. says "Ashley is an amazing babysitter, my daughter absolutely loves going over to her house. She knows what she is doing, and has been watching my daughter...

I am a very loving and dedicated mom of three and grandmother of four. I am looking to help teach and care for children as if they were my own (as my last child is now in 7th grade and I have home-schooled for the previous school year). I have (over the years) cared for children both long and short term, anywhere from newborns to junior high school age. I have over 20+ years of experience caring for children, as well as children with special needs. I have also enjoyed being a mother's helper, picking children up from school, picking up dry cleaning, etc. I enjoy teaching, reading and playing, while providing a nurturing, loving, pleasant, fun, safe environment for children. I believe in children having fun and being stimulated and challenged (not just TV watching). We take walks, go to the park, do crafts, visit the library to name a few of our activities. I have been an assistant to the youth leader, and Sunday school teacher for our local church. I volunteer yearly as an assistant to the business manager of my son's football team, also providing them with care, snacks, rides, encouragement and support. I believe in and encourage parents to drop by and check in on their children. I also ask that parents take the time to go over their children's activities and art projects they bring home, as we celebrate each child's achievements daily for a healthy, positive self esteem.

Christi M. says "Cecilia cared for our son from the time he was 7 months until he was 18 months. We only had to change providers because we moved closer to my work....

Palm Valley Montessori

Palm Valley Montessori offers a genuine Montessori education. The curriculum is diverse and integrated. The Montessori method of instruction is truly a hands-on approach to learning where the student is fully engaged. Each skill or concept is introduced with an accompanying material specifically designed to guide the child to discovery and mastery. The four foundations of any Montessori classroom are: Practical Life- The lessons in this category enable the child to care for himself and his environment. They are also known as the independence lessons. From these simple tasks, the young child builds concentration, self-confidence, motor skills, and autonomy. Exercises in this category include washing a table, arranging flowers, preparing vegetables, lacing a shoe, setting a table, and greeting guests. Once the child has mastered these activities he is ready to advance to the more complex lessons of language and mathematics. Sensorial- All five senses are engaged in Montessori education. Dr. Montessori noted that "development of the senses precedes that of superior intellectual activity." The sensorial materials train children to discriminate the differences in forms, colors, textures and smells. The child refines the use of his senses and develops critical thinking, concentration, and sequencing skills. Some examples of the sensorial lessons include the pink tower, baric tablets, tasting jars, constructive triangles, and superimposed geometric figures. Language- Children are capable of using sounds to "build" words before they can physically write. Therefore, Montessori classrooms use a moveable alphabet so the child can literally combine the sounds to form words and sentences. Reading is taught by guiding the child to discover that sounds make words and those sounds have symbols. The Montessori environment emphasizes the importance of vocabulary with stories, songs, poems, plays, and conversation. The child learns not only to read and write, but to fully express himself through language. Activities in language include sound games, sandpaper letters, phonograms, logical adverb game, and simple sentences with extensions, attributes, and appositions. Mathematics- A love of mathematics will develop naturally if the young child is allowed to discover mathematical truths in the concrete and then apply those truths to the abstract. First, the child learns the symbol and the quantity for numbers. Next, mathematical processes are taught using the decimal system. Some examples of Montessori mathematics lessons include number rods and cards, formation of complex numbers with beads and cards, dynamic multiplication, linear counting, long division with boards and racks, and introduction to fractions. The Montessori child also receives exposure in the Arts, Sciences, and Culture. Geography, history, botany, zoology, art, and music are all integral parts of the curriculum. The students study an artist and a composer of the month. Diversity is treasured in the Montessori classroom. Foods, music, dress, language, art, and celebrations from cultures beyond our Western world are introduced to students so they are prepared to be citizens of the world. Grace and courtesy, peace education, character development, gardening and outdoor activities, and movement education are also stressed in the Montessori primary environment. Children at this level of development are particularly adept to absorb these lessons. Full and extended day students also benefit from weekly Spanish, music, art, and yoga classes.

Kingsland ChildCare Solutions, Inc. after protracted haggling with banks building owners has made the strategic decision to open up as a home based child care development in Arroyo mountain Estates in Litchfield Park (Buckeye) AZ. This pushes back the building move by 12 months. Kingsland operates in a space that embraces innovation and change. We utilize elements of Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and the anti-bias philosophies. We are guided by the creative curriculum and interject song, dance, art, and basic sign language terms to assess how each individual child learns. We are partners with the parents because it takes both entities being vested in the child's development in order for the child to optimize their potential. I would like to thank the parents who have entrusted me with the care of their children over the years and I look forward to doing much more with the next group of children who will become the inaugural class in the new building. I have 15 years within the profession and over that time I became well versed in creative curriculum, Spark, and ASL concepts. I have taken these elements and fused them with the Reggio Emilia and anti-bias philosophies to create something new and dynamic. Our program focuses on developing multiple senses simultaneously so that children learn the essentials they need to progress in formal education as well as the social skills that will allow them to succeed in life. Reggio Emilia taps into a child's critical thinking skills using art and music as the gateways to discovery. I am a firm believer in networking and partnering to offer an integrated approach to servicing your needs and the needs of your children. We are in phase 2 of our 120 day project which is generating the buzz and establishing the brand identity. In phase 2 we will generate the interest list. In phase 3 we will move in to the facility and start the application process. In the 4th and final phase we will have our grand opening and bring the totality of our shared experiences to the total care and development of your children. Our program is dependent on parent participation to work in tandem with the staff to carry-over what is learned into the home and other social scenarios. We welcome feedback as we seek continuous improvement in all of our processes and procedures. If all goes well we are tentatively planning an early to late October grand opening
