Guided discovery, problem-solving, practice, and skill-mastery are an important part of our carefully-designed, age-appropriate curriculum. *Children enjoy an environment rich in play. Both indoor and outdoor spaces allow for movement and large motor activities. Daily outdoor play on over 9,000 sq ft of playground is part of our program. Quiet play also gives children some down time in the course of a long day and encourages socialization. *Children want to feel secure, safe, and part of a community. Both security and safety come in the form of a structured program built upon daily routines. Children feel comfortable and competent. Attachments between staff and students develop, friendships form, opportunities for caring arise, and kindnesses are shared. *Children need respect. One of the most valuable gifts that a child can receive is the sure knowledge that they are significant and that the important people in their lives respect them and delight in who they are. Children receive that gift at Grosse Pointe Nursery School. *Most of all, children need family. We value our student's families. Family members are welcomed in the classroom. We are committed to supplementing, assisting, and supporting the family's child rearing. Every effort is made to be flexible in responding to individual needs for care and learning.

Jen's Bean Sprouts

Hi Moms & Dads, I've Been a Professional Mom for over 9 years now. I love what I do!!! My home is dedicated to your child having FUN and Learning as he/she comes to my home each day! We do Pre-School activities and have lots of fun indoor as well as out door play time! My back yard is fenced in with tons of toys for all aged children to play on. In the warmer months we walk to the Warren Fountain (with your permission) to play in the city fountain! On the other Hot days, we have fun in my back yard on a slip-n-slid or a sprinkler, or a toddler sprinkler mat for the babies! (can't forget the wee-ones) My Home is very open and I have a ton of room for the kids to burn off energy on the rainy days or during the winter months. I have activity centers for all age babies for as they grow. But personally, I prefer to hold them as much as I can! I'm not going to be having any more babies myself. So I DO enjoy the babies when a new family comes to my Daycare or an existing family has a new baby!!!! (smile, as any mommy should!) When they become more mobile I like to have a section of my living room closed off from the older kids, so the babies have their time to explore their new world and surroundings!) Every child has a pack-n-play (crib) that is dedicated to him/her while they are here at Jen's Bean Sprouts! Their sheets are changed daily - if needed, or at the end of the week and washed in a hot bleach wash. I like to make sure your child is as healthy as possible while they are in my care! The older children sleep on cots with sheets and blankets. So if your child has a special animal he/she likes to sleep with that's OK with me!!! I'm a MOM 1st!!! So if your child is hungry or thirsty he/she will get food or drink when he/she likes. I do NOT, believe a child should only eat 3 meals a day. So not to worry about how often your child ate here. So if all of this sounds good and you would like to meet me. Feel Free to Give me a call at: Jennifer Collins 586-872-5389

Hi parents! I am a 34-year-old mother, a college graduate, and former EMT for a well-known ambulance company in the area. I also am a licensed Firefighter with the state of Michigan! With extra emphasis put on safety, your child will learn what I learned about fire safety through age appropriate stories and drills. Your child will be Fire Chief for the week and lead our fire drills, and also learn about 911, strangers, what the police officers do and much more, mixed right into our reading and writing lessons! Your child will learn self-confidence, how to socialize with other children and be very excited to lead the fire drills in your own home! Also, our exercise time will keep your little one in tip-top shape. Well-balanced eating is promoted during our breakfast, snack, lunch and late snack time. If you're looking for a daycare with exciting lessons, games and projects to find your child's interest and talent, you've found the place! Reading, writing, art, games and puzzles are done daily, while slowly increasing the difficulty level to prepare them for preschool or kindergarten. My home is clean, organized, pet free, smoke free and welcoming. I absolutely love kids and would be honored to provide yours with a safe and loving environment while you work hard for them. Let me help prepare your child for their next adventure by allowing them to hike through their early years together with us at Carol's Kid Camp! Please contact me at your earliest convenience; I would love to discuss my daycare options with you! I will be receiving my state in-home daycare license soon and would like to save a spot for your little one in advance. My little hikers can begin arriving on July 15th!

Sarah B.

Hi Parents! My name is Sarah. I am a mom of two young children and have room for 3 more children in my home. I have many years of experience as a nanny before I became a mom and I just absolutely love it! I will provide healthy breakfast and lunch as well as two snacks for your children. I am a strong believer in structure and schedule for little ones, so throughout our day, we will have a schedule that you will be aware of so that while the children are playing, they will also be learning through various activities. Some activities your child might do here include: sensory play, imaginative play, story time, arts and crafts, puzzles, outdoor play, building, music and dance, letter of the week, as well as talking about the weather/time of day/etc. Your children will not only have fun here, but they will also learn everyday! If you are looking for a fun, positive, caring, and educational environment that provides for lots of individual attention for your child and someone who will look after them as you would while you are at work, please contact me!
