While the services they offer for the kids are wonderful. If they do not like the parent, they will make the child feel uncomfortable to push the family to leave. This happened to my son who is two. At first I thought it was just a normal bond issue that can happen between a child and teacher. I thought it was something workable. He was refusing to enter the building at all after his teacher, Kristina, was upset at him for something minor. I tried to talk to the owner, Heather Davis, and her response ended up being "I don't know what to do, Braeden can no longer come for care after Friday." Firday was less then four days away. I learned from a former employee of Wee Excel that it is common to see kids have bond issues with the teachers and the parents usually remove the kids instead of trying to work things out. Also, a month after my son started there, he was being bitten by other kids often. He had five bites in two weeks. The other kids would take his binky, push him down and bite him on the back. He was not even two during the bite issue. The state investigated the bites because he was not the only kid being bitten and the school was not calling parents to let them know. I would not find out until 9pm when my babysitter hands the "ouch report" that was given to her when she picked my son up. They said they had a meeting and continued after the meeting to not follow state regulations for biting to contact parents before pick up. I asked why I was not notified and the teacher at pickup responded "we were probably to busy". When the state completed its investigation, the owner wrote me personally to let me know the biting incidents went onto their record. Parents are not accountable for the staff to follow state regulations. They gave my son a balloon and as we walked out to the car, he popped it with his mouth. I talked with the teacher, Kristina, letting her know that the pieces did not fall into his mouth because they are a choke hazard. She decieded she had to inform me that she is court mandated and was in position to report me. I told her and wrote the school to not offer balloons to my toddler if they are going to turn around and give threats for a choke hazard they gave to my child and point the finger at me. If they don't like you, they will be overzelous and do what they can to push you out even if it makes the child uncomfortable. They say in the paperwork they work with parents and kids, but in reality they just push them out.
