Nurturing, Friendly, And Caring Family Nanny
I have worked with a variety of families since I was a young teenager, and I have held many positions within those family units. From 'Mother's Helper' to 'overnight sitter' and 'full time nanny', I have been a part of these families lives and watched their children grow. The first family that I worked with was a family with two small children, one with a learning disability. I had been with them for three summers, since the youngest was six months, when they moved away. I have unfortunately lost contact with them. Another family I worked with was also a summer position. They are a family with four children; the twins are five, and then the older children are seven and 10. I was responsible for breakfast, snacks, lunch and sometimes dinner. I made sure the kitchen and dining area was cleaned after each meal. I would make certain they were dressed and ready for the day ahead, help them make their beds and pick up their rooms. We would frequently go for 'discovery walks', outside play, singing and dancing, coloring, story telling, doing puzzles, and cuddling for a short movie during rest time. Sadly for me, the twins started school with the older children, so I was no longer needed as a nanny during the school year. Another of the families that I worked with had twin girls, aged 8 weeks when I started. I loved working with these little ones, seeing their different personalities develop and grow. Unfortunately, the family's needs changed when they moved city and I was not able to fulfill those needs any longer. I still see them on occasion, and it is a joy to see how the girls have grown! I have been a volunteer for the last 7 years for a family with triplets. Ever since the babies came home from the hospital, I have gone every Tuesday night to help the family. They are 7 years old now, and I have become close with the family and continue to help just so I have the pleasure of watching them change and grow. I am CA certified for respite care for foster youth. Renewal needed on CPR.
