Situated on a half an acre, we have a large grassy play area, along with a playground chalk full of little tyke playground equipment. We specialize in preschool, and have a great program developed my Tami Williamson herself, to keep up with the rigorous demands of the Dry Creek School District. Preschoolers will be engaged in a variety of learning activities throughout the morning including an art, science, cooking, or other learning activity plus Circle Time, which includes all the elements necessary for your child to be kindergarten ready! Our preschool program has proven each year that the children graduating from Sunny Day School go into kindergarten excited and ready for school. Because of our small class size, we have the ability to address and work with any issues we see along the way, and with years of experience in this field, you will always know how your child is doing and what progress they are making. Toddlers enjoy a small group time in the mornings, a relaxed one on one time with the teacher, exploring pre-preschool activities such as dancing, singing, identifying colors, shapes, and numbers, and listening to stories. Learning starts from birth, as we at Sunny Day School believe, and that every child loves being stimulated. We keep our infant numbers small, only taking one at a time, so that they receive the individualized attention that they need to thrive and grow. Infant care is individualized depending on the needs of each child. Our infants are given plenty of nurturing and care coupled with experienced teachers and stimulating environment. Our School age program includes transportation to local schools, homework support, materials to do their homework and simple school projects, and teacher assistance if needed. Our school age children have a space for themselves, with cooperative games, computers, small age appropriate library, video games, and more. Communication is the key at Sunny Day School. We use verbal redirection, and really stress the importance of communication with our parents and children. Our friendly staff is always available to talk to parents at the beginning and end of the day. We also have daily charts for each child, recording the day in simple terms, so that every parent can be kept abreast of their behavior, how much they ate, and how much they slept during the day. We reward good behavior daily, with a sticker chart, and as your child collects the stickers, they will receive "treasures" from our "treasure box". Our goal at Sunny Day School is to help nurture your child in every way, academically, socially, and emotionally.
