Seeking Full-time Senior Care Provider In San Leandro

Full Time $15 – 25/hr Starts 02/17 San Leandro, CA
Seeking care for my mother in her 80s. Services needed: medication prompting, transportation, light housekeeping, errands / shopping. Looking for someone with 3+ years of experience caring for seniors. Specialized care needs: support for chronic illness, support for memory care. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my mother: she can be lethargic, pleasant, independent. Diabetic. Needs to be reminded to take her meds, check blood sugar . Wobbly on her feet and has fallen many times. She's in denial and wants to continue with her independence. I'm looking for someone who is patient. Would love this caregiver to be able to come two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. Fill pill box with meds and keep track if meds were taken and to contact me with any concerns at any time. I live in Washington and my next step would be to bring her home with me. She really wants to live and stay in her own home. I need another week to assess if this is even going to work but she is willing to have and pay for someone. My mother has a cousin she walks with who lives close by. She is also in her eighties. They walk in the morning sometimes so that should be noted. It's not everyday. I am working with mom currently on her memory and watching her ability to check her diabetes and give herself medication. I would love whomever gets the job to be in contact with me as well.

Seeking Full-time Senior Care Provider In San Leandro

Full Time $15 – 22/hr Starts 01/29 San Leandro, CA
Seeking care for my mother in her 80s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, feeding, meal preparation, medication prompting, mobility assistance, light housekeeping. No prior experience required. Specialized care needs: nursing experience, support for memory care. Female caregiver preferred. A little more about my mother: she can be pleasant, reserved. My mom is in the mid stages of vascular dementia. She is pretty much bed bound, and does not walk anymore. She is always pleasant and in a good mood. I'm looking for someone who is patient, chatty, firm, strong, fond of pets. The ideal caregiver must be patient, thorough, caring, and treat my parents as if they were her own parents. She MUST have experience with dementia and Alzheimer's patients and know how to handle them when they are confused or sundowning. I will not tolerate being short tempered or angry with my parents. She must be energetic and willing to help with daily laundry and household chores. It's important to us for the caregiver to enrich our parents' daily lives by interacting with them, having them do little art projects, or anything that will stimulate their brains. Letting them sleep all day and not get them up and out of bed is NOT an option. We currently have a caregiver who is usually here Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 pm, but she has not been here several days per week. At first it will be an "on call" situation, with the possibility of becoming full time Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
