During the month of May we will be allowing students to create freely. Use our materials and create whatever their hearts desire! Advanced art projects will NOT be completed in one week. These are longer projects and take up to 4 classes to complete. We work with a variety of mediums and take our art to different levels with shading and details.

Welcome back to our exciting and creative classes! This month, we kick things off with a captivating project: a bookworm clay sculpture. Our objective is to provide students with hands-on experience in working with clay, teaching them essential techniques and tools required for clay molding. Throughout the class, students will discover the art of shaping and molding clay, gaining knowledge of different methods and approaches. They will learn how to use various tools effectively to sculpt intricate details and bring their apple masterpiece to life. And the best part? Once their sculpture is complete, they will have the opportunity to paint their creations, finishing off a perfect apple for any teacher's desk.

Join us as we celebrate the art of Eric Carle with this timely pomegranate! Illustrator of fan favorites like “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” Carle favors texture over value to give his images depth, creating a visual world of colorful childlike wonder. Focusing on texture and color, students will paint their paper before cutting out their collage. This class is sure to strengthen dexterity and introduce concepts of contrast and form.
