Art Classes in Guilford, CT

Join us as we dive into this colorful mandarin fish painting! Students will learn all about chiaroscuro and the use of contrast to create intensity in their art. In addition, they will utilize pattern and negative space as they bring their creation to life. Art Lessons perfect for ages 4-6 years. 1-hour class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our beginner classes throughout the school-year! Join us on Tuesday or Saturday each week... or whenever it's convenient for you! We do the same project each of those days for each week, and then something new for the next week! Dress for a mess! Please! We use acrylic paints and sometimes they are difficult to remove from clothes!

This week we will explore sculpture for this mythical clay relief Medusa Head. Students will be guided through various application techniques to enhance their tactile skills and fine motor abilities by molding and shaping clay. The objective is to develop spatial awareness and learn about proportion as they create their clay models. Additionally, this project will boost creativity as students personalize their faces and snakes with a pop of color! Perfect class for children ages 7-9 years old. 90-min class We will use a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylic & tempera paints, oil pastels, mixed media, and clay for our intermediate classes throughout the school-year!
