She began playing violin at the age of 11. Over the years, she developed her skills further by taking private lessons, being a part of her school orchestras, attending workshops and summer camps, and playing violin at community events. She gained performance experience in the orchestra, chamber, and solo areas by playing at such venues as the Palladium Carmel, Indiana and Butler University’s Clowes Hall with numerous orchestras. In school, Ruby participated in the Indiana State School Music Competition ISSMA for three years and received eight total gold medals in both solo and ensemble playing, receiving five at the district level and three at the state level. Though Ruby can teach many different genres of music, she especially loves classical solos for the violin, which greatly influence her style of playing. Ruby loves music because it is a powerful tool of artistry and self expression and is looking forward to teaching music so she can share her passion with eager new students.
