Efficient Strategies: Discovering flexible and efficient ways to solve problems, such as breaking numbers apart, using friendly numbers, and understanding inverse operations (addition/subtraction and multiplication/division). We'll show how these strategies make even complex problems manageable. Beyond Memorization: While knowing math facts is important, understanding how numbers work together is crucial. We'll explore various strategies for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division that go beyond rote memorization. Visual Models: Using tools like number lines, base ten blocks, and arrays to visualize mathematical operations and grasp underlying concepts.
