I'm 27, and live in the north Texas area. I'm very passionate about every aspect of music, and love to meet other guitar enthusiasts that have been bitten by the bug so to speak. I've been playing guitar for 15 years now and am just as passionate and inspired as I was from day one. My favorite style of music is mostly blues, and every type of rock. Genres that inspire me, I listen to, and play, consist of everything from 60's/70's acoustic folk/soft rock, 70's disco/funk, 70's/80's pop, 60's/70's/80's blues based rock, pop rock, hard rock, 90's grunge/hard rock, and some 80's and early 90's heavy metal. Some of my favorite bands are, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, ZZ Top, Van Halen, Guns N' Roses, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers to name a few. I love to help other passionate guitarists learn more about playing, more about creating and developing the sound and style their after, as well as expanding their knowledge and understanding of their instrument and equipment. Besides teaching I have great knowledge and experience in guitar setups, repairs, and modifications, along with experience in guitar amplifier and effect pedal repairs and modifications. Formal Education: My formal education consists of studying music history/theory for one year, and classical guitar for two years at Grayson College Private Education: My private education started out with my father, who's played guitar for many years, teaching me the basics and fundamentals when I first started learning to play guitar. I took off on my own from there teaching myself using various sources such as the Internet, books/magazines, instructional DVDs and tapes, and other guitar players. A lot of my education came from countless hours of playing and practicing alone, as well as jamming with friends and family in a band setting. I believe there is always more you can learn and that you can always become a better musician that should never quit striving to be the best you can. Performing Experience: My experience in performing consists of playing gigs with a band as lead guitar for family functions on holidays and get together's such as Fourth of July party's, family reunions, and the like. I've also done live performances at guitar recital's for classical guitar classes I've taken, as well as performances as lead guitar playing solos alongside a bass player and an acoustic guitar player. I've also performed alone live just doing the lead guitar parts and solos of several songs for a large birthday party. Experience Teaching: Have given lessons from time to time over the years I've been playing since I was good enough to start teaching beginners.
