She performed her first paid gig at the age of 5, when her dad bribed her with a quarter to stand on the kitchen table and sing Dolly Parton’s Coat Of Many Colors. Although she has been influenced by her blue grass/country upbringing, Emily’s love of all things musical led her to train her voice to a variety of artists, including Olivia Newton-John, Pat Benatar, Whitney Houston, Jewel, Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson and others. She ties her varied musical exposure together through classical vocal training, giving her voice a powerful range, an unexpected agility and a unique edge. Emily can deliver music from a variety of genres – pop, rock, country, RB and jazz with competence and confidence. Emily has been recognized by Billboard as a talented and promising song writer. She received four honorable mentions (top 500) for three of her original songs in the 2006 14th Annual Billboard World Song Contest which had over 18,000 entries.
