Originally I am from Hattiesburg, MS, but am currently completing my degree in Music Education at UTSA. I have been a student of music for 11 years and have been heavily influenced by great performers such as Bryn Terfel, Amit Peled, Isata Kanneh-Mason, and Jessye Norman. I primarily teach voice, but I also teach intermediate piano and cello as well. My teaching philosophy can best be described as fluid. As a teacher, I strive to create the best possible learning environment for students by adapting to their individual desires and needs as musicians. During my lessons, you can expect to learn not only an instrument, but how to interpret music on a level deeper than the notes and rhythms on a page. I like to tell my students that many concepts in music are difficult but none of them are impossible, with guidance, time, and determination much can be mastered or at the very least, improved. My favorite thing about teaching is working with students who have a genuine passion for music. Whether they enjoy it recreationally or have aspirations to pursue music professionally, seeing their growth and being able to help nurture their talents is an amazing feeling.
