He has performed in many top ensembles and programs in Texas and around the United States, including the Druid City Opera Workshop program at The University of Alabama, Chicago Summer Opera, Lamar University Opera Theatre, Lamar University Acapella Choir, Sam Houston State University Opera Workshop and top choral ensemble, as well as The Texas All State Choir in 2012. As well as opera, Rene has also performed roles in Musical Theatre as well. He is a well-rounded musician, and his teaching philosophy is to find what works for the student and to tailor each lesson to every individual voice. He has studied the voice and vocal pedagogy for many years individually and through university courses and independent studies through his vocal instructor, Dr. Jammieca Mott, DMA.
