The purpose of Upton’s Little Saints Christian Preschool is a sound academic education within a warm, caring family environment. Our emphasis is on providing a basic Christian philosophy of love as an approach to life. We live in an economy that forces an increasing number of parents to seek child-care facilities for their children. At Little Saints, every child will be in a nurturing, academic, family environment to foster a life-long love of learning. Our teachers focus on preparing each of our students for Kindergarten and beyond. . . Kindergarten is not what it used to be. The expectations for children entering Kindergarten are also not what they used to be. Years ago, children would go to Kindergarten to learn their letters and numbers. Now they start addition, subtraction, and expect children to already be able to write their names and recognize sounds. School districts also expect children to be past the separation anxiety many children experience being away from their parents, be able to sit and focus on a lesson, complete tasks that are given to them without getting distracted and have the social and emotional development to be in a room with 30 other children their age. As you can see there are high expectations for incoming Kindergarteners. This is where Little Saints can help.
