I am a graduate of University of Richmond with degrees in Early Childhood Education, Social Work and Psychology. I am registered with the state, CPR and First Aid certified. I am currently an educator with Henrico County Schools. I consider myself much more than a babysitter...I enrich children's lives. I believe that little ones are the most precious gift to all who come in contact with them. They should be nurtured and listened to. I feel that education is most important in every child's life, however, children should also be allowed to be themselves, play and enjoy their imaginative childhood. I will teach, play, laugh, sing and "love on" your child as if they were my own. I will keep them safe and happy. I will also respect and consider your needs and concerns regarding your child.

I am offering an in home daycare setting for 1 or 2 additional children. I already have 3 children of my own (ages 1, 5, and 8). We live in a nice house in the Bon Air area. We have a large fenced in backyard with a playground. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology from VCU. I am also currently licensed through the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional for Children (QMHP-C). I have spent the last 8 years working with children and teens profoundly impacted with autism spectrum disorders. I have 4 years experience working as an in home counselor to families with special needs children facing various challenges and implementing behavior plans. I have an additional 4 years working in a classroom setting employed as a teaching assistant at the Faison Center for Autism. I previously worked in a classroom with students diagnosed with autism displaying varying levels of challenging behaviors who are unable to attend public school and needed more one on one support. I had immensely enjoyed working in this field while helping families and children in this population achieve goals and grow in so many countless ways. I was however torn because working full time outside of my home with 3 small children for so many years was very difficult and I am now grateful to have found more balance between my professional life and family life by pursuing my passion for education and helping families and children grow while also being able to spend more time with my own family. I have countless years of experience as both an educator, mentor, and of course child advocate, not to mention parent to my own 3 children. I am also very well acquainted in helping students academically as well if needed and have extensive training in applied behavior analysis techniques and positive reinforcement and redirection behavior strategies. I am comfortable caring for children of all or any age and am fortunate enough to still have toys for older kids and also lots of baby equipment for use. We do circle/group time daily where we read, sing, and learn about various different topics and concepts. We do group puzzle activities, coloring and art activities and we also focus on different daily academic themes like letters, numbers, shapes, colors, and opposite concepts. I have been a family child care provider for over 28 years professionally and have taken care of children for over 40 years. I offer a lot of love and nurturing to children from age 6 weeks until 2 to 3 years old. I help prepare toddlers for preschool and help get them potty trained. We have reading time, free play time, learning time, arts and crafts, outside time (weather permitting) and have birthday parties for each child. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I supply breakfast, lunch and two healthy snacks. I have separate places for each child to take a nap. I am a mother of three grown children and have two grandchildren. I have loved my job of child care since day one and still love it.

OASIS is a gospel centered after school and summer program for working parents in the Richmond area. We exist to partner with parents to nurture God reliant, impact-ful members of society. We bridge the gap between education and daycare. Our staff consists of people who love God, His word, and your children! We are certified in CPR, AED, and First Aid. We are trained in drawing out the inner world of a child and creating an environment where each child feels safe, capable, challenged, and loved. Our after school program focuses on homework completion and tutoring so when you pick up your children, you get to have family time. We also have Bible study, art class, and reading time with a therapy dog named Hattie. When kids are done with homework, they get to enjoy time together on our outdoor playground or indoor playroom growing in their social skills and micro/gross motor functioning without even knowing it!

Our summer program offers full and partial day care as well as drop in days! You pick the weeks you need care, and are only financially responsible for those weeks! We have chapel time, craft sessions, music classes, SOL review and preparation stations, run club, pool and park trips, reading time, and field trips!

FRIENDS Association for Children began in 1871 as an orphanage in historic Jackson Ward. One of our centers still resides on the same property in Jackson Ward. A second center is located just north of the historic Church Hill area. FRIENDS serves children, ages six weeks to 17 years of age, with a broad array of services. Through these services, children gain critical literacy and developmental skills needed to succeed in school and in life. Additionally, children achieve a greater understanding an appreciation of their community and the world around them.

I have one opening in my Lakeside home for a preschooler over the age of 12 months. I have been caring for children for over 25 years. I have a small group of children; 4 full-time and 1 part-time. One of my full-time children will be going to kindergarten in Sept. I offer days filled with activity and learning. I believe a busy child is a happy child. I read books to the children, we sing songs and play games, there are blocks, puzzles, coloring, crafts, 123's and ABC's, outside play and much more.. I offer breakfast, lunch and two healthy snacks daily. I am located 5 minutes from I64. Mine is a smoke free and pet free home. I have excellent references and affordable rates, in addition to a large, fenced-in backyard.

Our preschool combines learning experiences and structured play in a fun, safe and nurturing environment offering more than just child care. Preschool is the first introduction to a lifetime of learning, and it's a journey that should start off on the right foot. Our enthusiastic teachers genuinely care about children, and understand each child's individual developmental needs and learning styles. Since ASAPSitters, LLC launched in 2008, we have provided babysitters for over 1,000 families in the Northern Virginia, DC, Richmond, and Charlottesville. Many of our new clients are referred by families that are already a part of the "ASAPSitters family" - folks already using our experienced and reliable babysitters. We're very exited about how ASAPSitters has continued to grow and how we are a little part of that "village" it takes to raise a child. We are working on expanding our services to meet the needs of families in other nearby areas. In 2012, we opened a new branch in Charlottesville, VA in addition to our DC Metro area region. And in 2015, we opened our Richmond area branch. We hope to grow to serve more wonderful families in the near future!
