My name is Christine Hernandez. I've been living in Laurel, MD since 1997. I'm married and have a grown son and teenage daughter. I have over 20+ years of child care experience. I've been licensed since January 2003. I hold a current CPR/First Aid Certification and complete 12 hours of child related classes each year.

I have a mixed aged group between the ages of 3 months to 5 years old. I'm open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. I offer part-time care as well as full time care. I follow Howard County Public Schools weather delays & closings. I'm also closed for spring/winter breaks. This is the perfect daycare for Howard County teachers!

My goal is to provide a safe & happy environment for children where they can learn & grow through play. I provide a home like setting; therefore, I don't follow a strict routine. Your child will receive quality care in a warm & loving home. We spend a lot of our time outdoors when the weather is nice!

Can't say enough amazing things about Christine. She's our sons first childcare provider and she made the transition so easy for us new parents. Our son has been with Christine for a little over a year now and he absolutely loves his time at daycare. On most days he doesn't even turn around to wave goodbye when we drop him off because of how excited he is to be at Christines. We'll be moving in a few months and I'm so sad to be leaving her as we trust her so much with our son. She's extremely attentive and reaches out to us over the most minor things that most daycare providers wouldn't. We feel truly blessed to have had her watch over our son this past year and a half.

My goal is to provide a safe and happy place for children where they can learn and grow. My goal is to teach children how to communicate, problem solve and get along with other children. Everyday, I offer your child the opportunity to play with puzzles, games, art material, play dough, books, music, and language to support the learning process. If this is the way you would like for your child to play and learn, then this is the place for you.
My family daycare will provide care for children between the ages of 2 months through 8 years.

My son has been attending Sunshine Family Childcare since he was 11 months old, he's now 18 months. At first I was nervous about leaving my infant with a stranger, but that stranger grew to become "auntie" someone who is loving and my son enjoys. She's patient and enjoys caring for the kids in her care. The childcare area is alway clean, equipped with puzzles, toys and other children appropriate items. She's also knowledgeable about child development and prepares the children for preschool with the basics like colors, numbers, abc etc.
