Voted "Best of Culpeper" year after year! The Culpeper Baptist Child Development Center (CDC) has been in the Culpeper area since 1949. The CDC is well-known in the community as a quality, Christian, non-denominational childcare center with well trained staff and a good balance of warmth, Christian love, and education. The center serves children birth through a child's thirteenth birthday by offering infant, preschool and elementary care. All six Culpeper County elementary schools and Floyd T. Binns Middle School are able to be bused to and from our center to public school each day. Both part and full time care opportunities are available. Hi Everyone. My name is Patricia Thorpe. I am currently a Fairfax County Special Needs School Bus Driver. My husband, two children and I live in Culpeper, as you can imagine the commute is too much. I take the children on the school bus with me, they are in car seats too much. I love driving but my son is growing to despise the car seat and the bus, I can no longer put him through it. I used to run an in home daycare in Manassas Park and I absolutely loved it, we fell on hard times and I had to look outside of the home for income. We are in a better spot for me to start my home daycare again, so here I am. My hope is to start as late as January 2013 but the sooner the better. If I can find at least three children before January, I will put in my two weeks with Fairfax and start my daycare. I babysat on a part time basis starting as a young teen to 23 years old, I was a nanny for three years, I ran an at home daycare for two and a half years and I have been driving a school bus for six months. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I will provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks, along with beverages. I will provide playtime inside and outside (in a privacy fenced yard). I have plenty of toys, play sets, toddler basketball hoops, play house and much more. Inside we will have circle time, Leapfrog educational time, free play time and if parents allow their children to watch television, I will play Leapfrog and preschool Prep DVD's. My son and daughter love these DVD's and my son learned his letters, letter sounds, shapes, colors and numbers with these educational DVD's.
