About our household/where we are located: Our home is located near the intersection of Sullivan and Mitchell Roads (on the border of North Aurora). My husband, James, and I live in our home, along with our room mate, Rob, and our medium sized and extremely friendly dog, McCoy. We are also expecting our 1st child in December, we are calling him or her Batman at the moment. About our daily routine: The children participate in free play activities throughout the day. The toys are regularly rotated so they are exploring new and challenging materials. In the morning, the children participate in a short group time where we read a book, sing a song, and explore the felt board. As a group, the children engage in a daily science, art, or mathematics activity that is geared towards their development and interests. We believe children learn through active, hands-on exploration, and plan activities that encourage curiosity! Everything is very hands-on and sometimes messy too. We spend quite a bit of time outdoors each day either going on a walk, playing at our local park, or investigating the toys on the deck. The children take a daily nap from 12:15-2:30/3:00. There is no screen time throughout the day. The important details: Breakfast (7:45), lunch (11:30), and afternoon snack (3:30) are provided with the cost of tuition. Healthy meals are prepared using fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads, and lean meats and milk. Children's diapers are checked/changed AT LEAST every 2 hours, and more frequently if needed. Detailed &quot;All About Me&quot; sheets are sent home on a daily basis so that parent's have a full understanding of their child's day. Parents are encouraged to call or text throughout the day to check in on their child, and pictures are frequently sent to parents so they can see just how much fun their child is having!
