Hello, we are looking for care for my 90-year-old father just recently returned to his home. He currently needs help transferring from the bed to the wheelchair, so being able to you a hoyer lift would be very helpful. He is diabetic, and due to an infection and surgery on his foot, along with knee issues, he is currently unable to walk. We are continuing physical and occupational therapy. Assistance with medication, bathing, and changing is required. We would need someone who can prepare simple meals, handle light housekeeping, and very importantly, provide companionship. Preferences are for a caregiver who is a non-smoker. We currently need someone Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. , with potential for other days and times as well. Non-smoking female caregiver/household worker needed. 4 hour shift. Days and hours will vary at times. Next shift is Saturday, August 18, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. $15/Hr. In the future there is likely to be a night shift offered that will essentially pay someone for sleeping. Primary care giving duty now will be fall prevention for a 90-year-old, extremely cooperative and likable, 90 pound female, who very likely will not move during the entire shift and will sleep most of the time. Some housework is required. Excellent references a must.

Part Time Caregiver/Personal Assistant/Housekeeper

64-year-old gentleman with some mild physical and intellectual limitations is in need of a part-time asst. Basic household duties in a small 1-br. apt., generally keeping the place tidy. There will also be an element of companionship, the nature of which will vary according to that day's needs, such as going to a doctor appt. or perhaps an outing, such as a sporting event or a walk. There is also a companion cat in the family so you must be comfortable being around a cat. The schedule is very flexible, up to 20 hours/week. Afternoons or early evenings are generally best. The position will be sponsored by In-Home Supportive Services. IHSS provides personal care and domestic services to persons who have a disability and who live in their own homes. IHSS is provided to those who can safely remain at home if IHSS services are received.
