Hello! My name is Carolina and here's a little about me: I am currently attending college majoring in Early Childhood Education where I study the branch of the education theory relating to the teaching of young children. My future goal is to open up my very own Family Child Care! I am CPR, FIRST AID, & AED certified! And also own my own car with a clean record! I do have a total of 5+ years working as a nanny that I would love to talk more in depth about with children of many ages! A little summary of what I have experience with: light housekeeping, preparing food, bath & nap time, potty training, driving children, managing appointments and tasks, much outdoor/indoor play, music & art classes, date nights for parents, one time jobs, and more! Four words to describe me: trustworthy, honest, reliable, and high energetic!! Please feel free to ask me any questions at all!!! Thank you! - Located in Daly City & Fairfield Area

Carolina cared for our 8-month-old daughter K. all day for a couple of weeks when we had a childcare gap between my husband's return to work and our daycare spot opening up. She hung out with K. and interacted with her in the play space, helped to feed her and keep her clean. Carolina also brought K. out to nearby parks for some fresh air during the day. Carolina was punctual and checked to make sure what time we needed her to come each morning, and she was flexible when we needed her to stay later on certain evenings. I also appreciated that she made observations about our preferred care-giving style and solicited feedback at the end of the day to see if there was anything that needed adjusting (although there was not). She is great at following instructions as well as communicating proactively and asking questions as needed. We would definitely hire Carolina again. I highly recommend her for families with short or long-term childcare needs!

FAQs for finding a babysitter

What is the going rate for babysitters on Care.com?
The average rate for babysitters on Care.com as of November, 2020 is $13.75 per hour. This rate will fluctuate depending on your location, the babysitter's level of experience, and the number of children to be watched. Other factors that may also influence the rate include the need for additional babysitting duties, specialized care, and overnight care.
How do I find a babysitter for my kids?

Looking for a babysitter can feel like a daunting task. To make the process easier, you can start by outlining what you'd like from a candidate before starting your babysitter search. Think about the level of experience you wish them to have, if you want them to have any first-aid certifications, if you need them to handle additional duties such as driving kids around or helping with homework assignments, and how much you are willing to pay.

To start your search process on Care.com, start by creating an account and answering a few questions to find babysitters that match your needs. You will then have the option to either post a job that can be seen by our extensive pool of caregivers or search babysitters from the platform based on years of experience, hourly rate, availability, distance from your area, etc. After you have selected your candidates, you can schedule interviews, check references, request additional background checks, and hire the sitter who best meets the needs of your family.

What should I ask a babysitter during an interview?
In order to get to know if the candidate is a good fit, focus your interview questions around their previous experience, their babysitting style and personality, their previous training and skills, as well as any specific requirements to be performed on the job. It is very common to schedule a paid trial where you can be present while they care for your children. This is a great way to find out if the babysitter is a good match for your family and if your kids feel comfortable too.
