Woodpark Montessori was established in 1990 by Priyanthi and Nimal Sundaram. Priyanthi did her Montessori training through AMI in Sri Lanka and began teaching in 1979. She decided to open her school in April of 1990. Starting with just 3 students, they quickly grew. In June of 2005, they acquired a building that would accommodate their fast growing Woodpark family. Woodpark has a dedicated staff and many of the lead teachers have been here for over 11 years.
The Montessori way lays a strong foundation for your child that prepares him or her for life success. The aim of the Montessori method is to help your child develop totally and fully. Developed by Maria Montessori, this method emphasizes a child's independence and freedom within limits. It respects a child's natural psychological development within a loving and caring environment.
Unlike traditional classrooms, our classrooms allow students to choose activities, go at their own pace, and learn new concepts by working hands-on with materials instead of solely being instructed directly.
