Veronica's Daycare

My name is Veronica and I am married and have two children of my own. I have one boy who is three years old and one girl who is two years old. I have previously worked as a preschool teacher for three years and plan to utilize my skills gained from thatenvironment, in my own home. I plan to accept up to 5 children as the maximum capacity so that each child is given the proper amount of hands on, one on one time with me. My husband and I are living in a condo style town home that is near 2,000 square feet. We have two full, open rooms that are the formal dining room and formal living room that have never been used. We have decided to put that space to good use by turning them into learning areas for children including our own. When parents arrive to our home to see the center prior to starting, you will find two large, colorful rooms divided into carefully planned interest areas. It will be filled with bright, primary colors and a variety of materials for your child to manipulate, explore, snuggle, play with and share. The rooms are especially designed to encourage your child's natural curiosity and desire to learn. The learning centers will include a language and literacy center, a math center, a science center, a dramatic play and housekeeping center, a manipulative play center, a blocks centers, a reading center, an art center as well as a vehicle center which will include all vehicles as well as a train track for the trains. I plan to use a pocket calendar which includes teaching of the days of the week, holidays if the children attend on one, the season we are in, etc. (Example: Each child will look out the window and determine what type of weather we are having that day during calendar and circle time upon arrival.) The organization of a preschool aged classroom sends important signals to children about what there is to do and how to do it and I am proud to say that I will be there to do just that.
