Nestled in the hills of Spring Valley overlooking La Mesa, Casa de Oro and Lemon Grove, sits The Wooden Box Daycare, a vibrant and unique in-home facility that will melt your heart and provide a haven of creativity, wonderment and comfort to any child. We are all about quality. Our toys have been carefully and intentionally selected for children to embrace their imagination and build confidence and self-awareness. Many of our toys are made from wood; they are of simple design and promote children to interpret the experience for themselves. The idea is that the child provides the entertainment and not the toy. We have also created a little village for dramatic play, an arts and crafts nook and have educational and toddler appropriate manipulative activities to promote motor skills and cognitive learning. We encourage healthy habits through nutritional and balanced meals, the use of natural products and incorporating physical activity throughout the day. A lasting healthy lifestyle is most effective when began at an early age. The Wooden Box embodies the atmosphere of a preschool with the heart of a home. Our days are filled with a balance of activities designed to promote listening skills, attention span, socialization, cognitive thinking and fun. With a rotation of group activities, provider-directed lessons and child-led play, we intend to achieve well-rounded children who develop a desire to grow, learn and explore.
