Parents have no rights at this place and children's' best interests are only secondary.

Doors to the daycare were found wide open unattended at the end of the day in the summer months while classrooms are not locked and children are still on premises ("to make trash removal easier" as was explained to us). The director does whatever she wants with no corporate to report to, and the board does not bother checking in with parents in any way. Instead of concentrating on making the daycare a safe and sound place, the director engages in unprofessional threatening behavior making up her own rules, cornering the parents in the hallway and berating them about her personal preferences causing friction in the family. The director told us that parents are expected to change diapers in daycare if their kid poops in the car on the way. This is not a charity but a paid service and changing diapers is one of them! Shame on you. The parent handbook clearly states that parents are welcome to come in at any time, but that is not the case. For example, when parents asked the teachers in advance if they could come in to help their one year old with a Halloween costume, teachers didn't object, but the director called stating she didn't want that to happen. In our experience the director was dishonest which is really shameful being a part of the church.

If you make up a rule, you should communicate it adequately and timely to all parents equally and don't be deceiving! There are webpage content archiving services on the internet that log when and what was changed or added to the website. It is easy to verify. Our two little kids were thrown out without any warning or advance notice in the middle of the school year. Not one meeting was scheduled with parents to discuss reasons. The "board" exists just on paper. Speak to your families and give them the voice (or advance notice to find a replacement in the very least). This is not a way to treat a paying customer and certainly is not good for children.

Bottom line, for roughly the same fee in the area you will find a caring place with a good education program that even supplies lunches and snacks. Unlike other daycares that charge a dollar for every minute late pickup, at Steeple Kids we were charged $50 dollars the very first and only time we were 1 minute late. In the 2year old room the curriculum is very very basic, not really a learning experience but more like a babysitting service. The director creates so much drama, it is unhealthy for everyone including parents, teachers, and children. The stress and the disrespectful and disregarding treatment is not worth going here.
