Piney Grove Elementary is located in the East Learning Community . We are a PK-5 elementary school with over 900 students. We have 47 classroom teachers, as well as 21 Special Area teachers with numerous Support Staff. Many of our teachers have National Board Certification as well as Masters Degrees. We have a strong academic program as well as a caring staff who strives to ensure that every student has the ability to learn in the best possible environment. Our program, like all CMS are being written to address the Common Core and Essential Standards.
Piney Grove Elementary has a high level of community involvement starting with an active PTA. Numerous churches and other organizations support our learning environment with donations of time, money and materials. We have a strong tutoring program thru the Retired Duke Power Tutors as well as students from Butler High School.We are a neighborhood school and also have eight classes of PK students who come to us from the area communities.
