I have operated my family child care program for over twenty five years and have worked with young children for more than thirty years. I have a bachelor 's degree in early childhood education. I am First-Aid and CPR certified and have a current criminal background check. I have a separate playroom in my home for the children with designated interest centers and a large, shaded, fenced outdoor play area. We have recently installed a brand new natural playground. I am certified with the state of North Carolina and am sponsored1 through Mecklenburg as well as Union Counties. I am a member of the NC Childcare Resources State Food Program and adhere to the regulations brought forth by them. We enjoy field trips and parents are welcome to join in on the fun. I love children and enjoy the rewards of being a part of their most formative years and seeing them grow and become well rounded for their promotion into kindergarten. Most children continue with me in the summer months and holidays participating in after school care (when slots are available). School teachers complement me on how well advanced the children are when they leave my care and enter their classroom. Over the years I have raised over 200 children. Children graduating from Precious Blessings Daycare have higher scores upon entering kindergarten and are well prepared for entering school. .

I created A Mother's Touch Home Daycare after having to send my own daughter to a daycare center. Everyday my heart would ache wondering if she was being spoiled and loved the way I would love her. Working is a necessary evil, but leaving our children with often young, inexperienced people is not. I went so far as to work in my daughters daycare part-time, so I could get a behind the scenes look at what goes on while I'm not there. It was not awful, but it was not the loving and nurturing environment I was looking for. It turns out most daycare owners are only interested in gaining a 5 Star status. I wanted my daughter to learn, but above all I wanted to her be with adults with whom she felt safe and loved. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I attended Rutgers University in Camden New Jersey for 2 years and had to drop out due to financial reasons. I quit my very successful full-time dental career to go back to college last year and I have recently been admitted to UNCC's Early Elementary Education Program. I've watched many neighbors children and grandchildren after school for the past year. Education is my passion, but making children feel special and encouraging them to grow is my joy. I believe in a balance of learning, fun, and rest sprinkled with lots of individual attention. I have seen my daughter flourish by leaps and bounds the past 6 months being home with me. Individual attention is the key for many children, and my daughter was one of them. While I appreciate and love what the teachers at my daughters last daycare did for her, getting an evaluation once every 6 months and finding out where she was lacking was not good enough for me. COMMUNICATION is key. I want to know what my child is doing daily and what she struggled with that day when I ask "How was her day?" I do not want to talk with a "teacher" who has only been with her an hour since she woke up from her nap and get a cookie cutter response of "fine." Your child will never be in need of attention at my home. They will be educated and above all loved and attended to every minute they are with me. I would love to meet with you, show you our home and have you meet our daughter and my husband of 10 years. He is out of the home from 7:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m. daily, but I still feel its important you know the entire family of the home your child will be in. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
