About the business
Little Dreamers is a home-based day care designed to help infants/toddlers adjust to a nursery school setting. Our goal is to help children happily separate from their parents or primary caregiver for limited time intervals. We facilitate this through encouraging interaction with others in a closely knit family style, educational environment.
We believe that each child is unique; children learn by playing with developmentally appropriate materials and by interacting with other children and adults. We believe that the key to a child's foundation lies in obtaining the right tools for development through self-expression, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning. Our play-based philosophy encourages a love of learning, respect, cooperation, leadership, pride, and problem-solving skills.
Here at Little Dreamers, it is our mission to provide a diverse and flexible program offering dance, music, games, stories, creative activities, and imaginative play. Each is designed to develop a strong foundation for flourishing young minds. Little Dreamers maintains its professionalism in a warm and nurturing environment specifically geared to children moving toward greater independence. After experiencing the combination of education and fun, your child will see that Little Dreamers really does make dreams come true.
About the Director:
Allison R., Director of Little Dreamers Playtime, graduated from Hofstra University with a dual Bachelor's Degree in elementary education and psychology in 2001. For the next three years Allison worked in the Newton, MA school district in both the second and third grade. She has developed after-school enrichment programs for fifth graders and has spent many hours working with children with special needs, including autism and ADHD students. Following this, Allison attended graduate school at Lesley University where she graduated cum laude with a Master's Degree in special education. Her passion has always been to work with children and she has since realized that the earlier that you can help a child, the better. This realization has led her to the creation of an educational program for a younger audience. Little Dreamers Playtime was born in 2008.
