Our History: Out of a need to provide quality child care for working Alexandria parents in the late 1930s, the Helen Day Preschool Academy was born. Helen Day is the oldest of the HOPKINS HOUSE early childhood academies and it has been a community beacon for decades. Preparing and educating children for exceptional achievement has proven to be Helen Day's time-honored tradition.
