Part-Time Senior Caregiver Available
I have always had an interest in nursing but due to circumstances could not afford to continue my education in that field. I decided to do the next best thing which was to g a job as a nurse's aid. I have worked in a hospital for a couple years and a couple of nursing homes after that. I enjoyed my stay at home for a while but decided I wanted to be busy again. During the illnesses of my mother, father, and in-laws, I was the primary caregiver. I worked in a couple places and when the job ended due to down-sizing. I decided I needed to return to my passion which is care-giving. I worked with a woman with dementia from January 27, 2010 as a companion, until July 15, 2011 when it was necessary for her to have 24 hour care. She was diagnosed with full blown Alzheimer's and now has a live in caregiver. I do visit her on occasion. I took 3 months off and a couple weeks ago, I registered to take the PCA course, I am now certified and ready to go back to work part-time. I am passionate about what I do because I am very nurturing, patient and caring and enjoy helping to make the quality of life the best it can be for those who need it. My last client has MS and I was with her for 2 years. Duties for both were: assisting in bathing, grooming, preparing meals, light housekeeping, grocery shopping and what ever was needed to keep the household running smoothly.
