French American Academy

Play Based, We have developed a unique 'total immersion' teaching approach by communicating with the children almost exclusively in French while carefully adopting the vocabulary, subject matter and sentence structures. At French-American Academy, we believe that children grow, learn, and thrive by feeling safe, loved, and nurtured. It is our goal to provide an environment that engages children with developmentally-appropriate activities and materials. In our program, children will feel supported as they engage with new ideas and learnings.
We've designed our care environment with play and learning areas that allow children to explore various developmentally-appropriate activities based on their interests. Some of our favorite areas include art area (for expressing emotions and ideas), reading / cozy area (for literacy, relaxation, and respite), and dramatic play area (for self-expression and empathy). We synthesize the traditional French curriculum and teaching methods with modern language instruction techniques and follow the natural order of the four language acquisition skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) in an accelerated manner which is adapted to the diverse needs of both native and non-native speakers.

Children will have some outdoor time everyday in my private yard or outdoor space. Connecting with nature lets children gain deeper knowledge of themselves and the world.
