We provide opportunities for preschool
and school age children with motor
challenges to achieve optimal physical,
cognitive, and social independence
through the application and promotion
of conductive educationprincipals. <br/> <br/>Restoring the interrupted learning <br/>process is not possible without the active <br/>participation of the individual. Passive <br/>exercises or patterns cannot change or <br/>improve the functional stage of the <br/>individual. <br/>The warm child centered atmosphere <br/>filled with music, laughter, socialization, <br/>and developmental play improve the <br/>motor skills, social skills, everyday <br/>independence, and self-esteem. <br/> <br/>The 3-5 hour long daily routine 3-5 times <br/>a week gives opportunities to <br/>continuously practice self-care skills <br/>such as eating, dressing, and potty <br/>training as well as the gross, fine motor <br/>and speech task series. <br/> <br/>Conductive education (CE) is <br/>based on the theory that the <br/>central nervous system has the <br/>capacity to form neural <br/>connections, despite <br/>neurological damage by <br/>repeating tasks and integrating <br/>intentional movement with <br/>learning. <br/>* The brain creates alternative <br/>paths to send messages to <br/>muscle groups creating the <br/>desired movements. <br/>* Conductive education is an <br/>educational system that has <br/>been specially developed for <br/>children and adults who have <br/>motor disorders of <br/>neurological origin such as <br/>cerebral palsy. <br/>* Conductive education targets <br/>the whole personality and <br/>attempts to build up children's <br/>personalities gradually in a <br/>manner appropriate to their <br/>age. <br/>* In Pet 's system, the individual <br/>is not the recipient of <br/>treatment; he or she is an <br/>active participant in the <br/>learning process.… Read more
