I would advise anybody considering Your Peace of Mind to make sure they receive personal references for any potential Nanny that Kristy (the owner) puts forward. I moved my family to Ridgefield CT earlier this year (2019) and needed a nanny/child care, and found our way to this business. After meeting a few uninspiring candidates put forward by Kristy, we met somebody that we liked. When we asked for references we were told by Kristy that she doesn't like to bother previous families and that she acts as the go between. We found this odd and pushed back, and only then were given a family the Nanny previously worked for back in 2014. We left it at that, and in retrospect, against our better judgment we hired the this person. The first few weeks at the end of summer went fine, but as soon as my wife went back to work in September our Nanny started calling in sick for a variety of reasons and this lasted into October before we ultimately needed to terminate her. It was just before this happened that we met a few people in town by chance that knew of our Nanny, and a family she had worked for prior to ours, and that they had the exact same problems with this Nanny. So, long and short, Kristy was well aware of this person's issues with attendance and still placed her with a family that has two working parents. This caused a tremendous amount of stress for us, and I don't want to see another family go through the same thing. For the record, the Nanny worked very hard when she was working, but had no problem at all calling out sick with regularity.
Bottom line, think twice before using Your Peace of Mind for child care and if you do, make sure you get recent references so you don't get in a situation like we did.
