Where would I be if my mom had not gotten me an Algebra tutor in 8th grade? Thank you, T! Thank you, Mom! Though I fussed, initially, finding out I really COULD learn when things were explained at my pace, in ways that made sense to me, was life-changing! I went from earning a "D" in Algebra to earning an "A!" Though I previously struggled in math, English, and anything reading-related were my natural strengths and joys. I was put into the Gifted English class in 5th grade (at the same time as being put in the "dummy" math class.) Both experiences shaped me as a teacher and as a tutor. I work with each student individually as a unique learner, exploring how YOU learn. I am a licensed English & Special Education teacher, and I love working with students who are "twice exceptional"--with learning differences and areas of giftedness. I grew up all over the world and love working with students of all abilities, cultures, and backgrounds.

I am currently a senior in high school. I have experience tutoring math, science, reading & grammar and Spanish. I am comfortable tutoring math at all levels: from addition and subtraction all the way through algebra II, pre-calc and trigonometry. For science, I can help with any lower or middle school level work and upper school level chemistry, biology, computer science.

I have tutored several kids in math and basic level sciences. My best subjects are algebra and chemistry. I can also work with kids in elementary school in any subject.

I love helping others learn, because it helps me learn too! I have a great amount of informal experience tutoring grades 1-8 as well as some high school and paid experience with college students. I have tutored general courses such as geometry, algebra, english, biology, anatomy & physiology, environmental science, basic Spanish, basic Latin, chemistry, etc. all of which I have taken during high school and/or college. My favorite subjects are biology, anatomy, and environmental science, as well as grammar, writing, and Latin. I have a 3. 48 GPA and highest performance in STEM and english classes.

I am a tutor who is passionate about helping high school students with math! I received my degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2010. I have 10 years of experience as an engineer, so I am able to incorporate real world application into my lessons. I think being able to demonstrate how concepts are used in STEM fields is what helps to make learning math more fun and interesting. I am reliable, patient, encouraging, and attentive to the individual students needs so we can work towards meeting their goals. I specialize in tutoring elementary school math. I help students gain a strong foundation in elementary math, as well as the confidence and skills to succeed as they encounter more difficult problems. I've also co-taught 6th grade algebra, so I understand their trajectory of learning. I also tutor Spanish, which I became fluent in while studying abroad in Costa Rica. I am a certified elementary school teacher who has taught literacy and math to small groups, as well as touching on all the content areas through teaching ESL.
