A walking school bus from Arleta school to our home is available for kids in after-school care. Care is available 7:45 AM until 6 PM, M-F. Meals and snacks are served family style, with instruction on appropriate table manners and conversation. I can accommodate special dietary needs within reason but this may result in additional cost. Christian education - bible memory and stories - is available on an opt-in basis. I am a warm and loving 50-year old single mom of a 12-year old and a 10-month old. I am seeking state certification (scheduled for completion fall 2011) and am a certified foster parent who has cared for 11 kids aged 3 days through 12 years, many of whom had special needs. I believe that every child has the right to be loved and appreciated for his/her unique character and gifts, and encourage kids to learn through play and service. I am open at this location through December 23, then will be moving to a new location and reopening January 3. The new location is yet to be determined but will be in the same neighborhood.
