I have baby sat and nannied for one predominate family. They had 2 boys and we had so much fun. While i was in high school my responsibilities were minimal and was only asked to watch them for date nights. I went to Portland State University which was close to their home. They increased my duties to morning, after school and weekend care. I really enjoyed the increased time and responsibility and started making lesson plans for the week. We would go on nature hikes, parks (learned new active games), entertainment resturants, cafts and art projects and more. My most memorable experience was a nature hike and we found a catapillar and make a habbitat for it. They were able to watch it go through it's metamophisis. We actually learned it was a moth and not a butterfly. They loved it. I now have my own little babby who just turned 9 month. This was an amazing experience and love taking care of her. She would be with me if looking after your children. She is the most easy going and happy baby. But the best part about having my own child and also taking care of someone else's children is that I now know how much parents love them. I have been coaching sports for over 10 years and currently coach club volleyball and will be an assistant coach at Portland State University for volleyball this upcoming fall. I also have an appreciation for the arts. My mother is music teacher and I have gown up learning music and actively participating in it. I think music is a great learning tool and incorporate that into my daily activies.

This is an amazing opportunity to place your child (children) into a well respected, loving environment with a day care that has extremely low turnover. Full-time day care (up to 48 hours per week) is only $125 per week for your children over 1 and under one is $175.00 per week (less with multiple child discount). I am under the jurisdiction of Reedville school district. I am fully registered with the state of Oregon and am subject to random visits to ensure quality of service and safety of the kids. I have never been sanctioned nor had a bad review. I am fully registered and certified in First Aid and CPR. Prior to opening my home daycare I worked in the medical field for 10+ years as well as taking care of my brother who is a quadriplegic. All food is provided with your monthly payment. Specialty foods (such as gluten-free products) may not be covered but will be discussed on a case-by-case basis if necessary. Important bullet points: -State recorded program. -Follow HSD calendar for days off/holidays and start/end dates. -Daily snack provided by parents. -Accept 3 to 5-year-olds who independently use the restroom. -Friendly dog in home. -Smoke-free home. We begin at 9:00a.m. We greet each other then hop into morning circle. This is an interactive activity that includes the Pledge of Allegiance, date, days of the week, letter of the day, colors, shapes, weather, and counting. There are songs, discussions, and hands on activities with a focus on practicing self control, taking turns and respect. *I use Timberdoodle's Pre-K nonreligious curriculum. Each day the students work on an artistic activity to really gel the information. *Friday mornings are reserved for arts and crafts. Next is recess. On Fridays we venture out a little farther to the beautiful Century Oaks city park. When we return we refuel with a mid-morning snack. It's a great time to practice good table manners and independence. After snack, depending on the day, we engage in a plethora of activities including: printing, building fine motor skills and manual dexterity, mathematic comprehension, thinking skills, logic puzzles, social studies, geography, science, and emotional intelligence. We finish our morning off with a read aloud. It's a fun-filled, fast-paced structured morning. We continually practice good manners, self-control, and independence. We talk about feelings, learn to be problem solvers, and are always making keen observations. I love what I do and feel incredibly lucky to be able to teach from home. In addition to engaging in age-appropriate toys and comforts, I am a rain-or-shine nanny/person so whether we walk the backyard, tend to the small front garden, or walk to nearby parks, shops, and schools it is important to me to venture outside daily for fresh air, experience, and play. I am a "yes" caregiver with a "do it!"/"try it!" attitude. I'm not a hoverer and hope to connect with parents who believe kids need lots of personal space, patience, and time to make decisions.
