Elder Care

I am a 58-year-old female and was born and raised in Belfast N Ireland, however I have been here in the USA for 29 years. I am a proud mother of three young adults. I am very much of a people person especially with the elder and Alzheimer population. I was a licensed practical nurse for 25 years and am now retired and looking for part-time hours at care giving, it is what I enjoy the most and do the best. Thank you for taking the time to read my message.

I enthusiastically recommend Liz R. Liz worked for our family for just over two years beginning in February 2018 as a home health aid and general caregiver. Liz helped my parents and primarily my elderly father during that period. She would do anything that was needed including assisting with bathing, shaving and dressing. She would drive him to his doctor's appointments, take him on walks around the neighborhood and spend time keeping him company. They would spend many hours talking and laughing together. Liz's nursing background was invaluable especially as my father's health declined at the very end. She spent many hours towards the end of his life making sure that he was as comfortable as possible. I am very grateful that she was there at the end. We could always count on Liz to be there when she was needed day or night even if it wasn't during her scheduled work hours. She has a very positive nature and a wonderful sense of humor.

RN, BCPA, Geriatric Nurse

I have over 30 years of experience working with seniors in a number of capacities. I have worked as a nursing assistant, an LPN and I am now a practicing RN. I am also a Board Certified Patient Advocate. I have been a Director of Nursing for several Assisted Living facilities for the past 10 years. I have always been a strong advocate for the patients in my care and would like to become a full-time Patient Advocate/Care Manager so as to be able to work one on one with these patients and provide them with the quality of care everyone deserves.

Wanda was the Director of an Assisted Living facility in which my mother was a resident. Without her expertise, advice, kindness and constant communication we would have experienced a great deal more consternation when my mother got sick with delirium several times. It was a tremendous benefit to have an intermediary who dealt so effectively with the doctors and hospital administration and did it in such a professional and pleasant manner. When my mother was hospitalized, Wanda spent countless hours visiting my mother on weekends and after work on her own time, as I later found out she did with any resident of the Assisted Living facility who was hospitalized. Her only concern was that her residents were getting the right treatment and monitoring their progress. Wanda always took the initiative to let us know the status of my mother's condition and to make recommendations as to what the next step should be. Wanda took great care of my mother, made her happy in her time of need
