Although I have not had any professional experience taking care of seniors, I had a grandmother who had dementia. Before her passing, she was in a nursing home because the illness had gotten so bad. However, before that, she lived at home, and I moved in with her to take care of her. Some days she wouldn't even know who I was, which was tough, and after her last stroke, she could no longer walk or do anything. This means I took care of everything for her, from helping her to the bathroom, to giving her her medications. Yes, since she was my grandmother, I was very passionate about what I did, but when she was in the home, I was equally as passionate about the others around her. If you stop and really think about it, we're all going to be in that position one day, and I know I would want someone to help me out.
