Loving, Caring, Reliable Caretaker

Avg response < 16 hrs
I am a mother of three wonderful children. I am a caregiver at heart. I love helping others and caring for those who need help and companionship. I have been caring for others for the past 20 plus years. My experience started as an Advanced CNA. When I had children of my own I did childcare in my home. As my children grew I decided to care for elderly clients in their own homes. I pride myself on going above and beyond for those who I have been blessed with caring for like I would my own family. I am trustworthy, honest, friendly, loving, reliable, caring, and I love to have fun and put a smile on the faces of those I care for. I have experience working with children, the elderly, patients with Alzheimer's, and end of life. I am a non-smoker and prefer to work in a smoke free environment . Although I love animals, I am allergic to most so I am not able to work in homes with pets.

I cannot say enough about Sarah. She cared for my mother (93 - 95 years old, but now moved to memory care in September, 2020). My mother and our family love Sarah. She has become a part of our family. Our family has had implicit trust with her. She cared for my mother 3 days a week minimum. My mother was fairly independent, but needed companionship and some assistance because of her dementia, vision and hearing. Sarah's priority was to be a companion (she had a playful way of keeping mom entertained). Eventually it lead up to cleaning her apartment, laundry and assisting with bathing. Sarah also convinced my mother to use her walker, which has been a daunting task. Recently, my mother fell while on her own time, and now her arrangements have changed. Sarah would still be with us today if not for my mother's misfortune. She is truly a diamond in the rough.

Part Time Care Giver/Companion/Errands/Help At Home

I grew up with a mother who cared for the elderly, and did in home care for hospice patients throughout her life. During the last 6 years of my mothers life she developed several health issues, it was my privilege to be the primary caregiver for my own mother who devoted her life caring for others. I cleaned her home, scheduled her appointments, took her shopping, ran errands, organized her medications, set up and helped with her oxygen, assisted with bathing and personal care, prepared meals and spent time together playing cards, watching movies and having great conversation. My mother has been gone for almost 6 years now. I understand how important it is to have some extra help to care for loved ones while trying to live our everyday lives. I have experience with stroke, dementia and special needs care with my other Care. com clients. I am married with 3 grown children. I currently have a full time day job with flexibility, and I have flexible hours through the week and weekends.

Michelle is like part of our family. She continually goes above and beyond for our Mom to make sure her needs are met. She is patient, kind, creative, dependable, flexible, and down to earth. Without Michelle our Mom would not be able to live in her own apartment. She has helped us navigate challenging medical changes and implement new strategies to improve Mom's quality of life. Michelle has been a steady shining light in our lives and we are beyond lucky to have her help.
