Help needed for my mother in her 70s - seeking part-time hands-on care. The ideal match will meet the requirements below. Feeding: She occasionally will need help with having microwaved food made for her. Transportation: Drive to and from her appointments. Bathing / Dressing: Because she gets tired from her treatments, help with bathing every 2-3 days would be a big help. Medication Management: Stay on schedule with her medicines. Companionship: Because I won't be around November 30th - December 8th, just for her to have someone keep her company would be delightful. Schedule Details: I will be out of state November 30th - December 8th. I will available to take my mother to her cancer treatment appointments Monday - Friday as scheduled. Most are scheduled early morning around 8am, sometimes 9 or 10 a.m. Because her chemo and radiation treatments are commonly Monday - Friday, she has two months to go to complete all the treatments, but her immune system of course isn't very strong and she gets tired and could use occasional help walking to her bed from the bathroom and vice versa. She is recovering very well from cancer thankfully, but because I'm the only relative and I sometimes do need a break or a second hand from someone more expertise.
Things to know:
- My mother is 73
- She is on a portable Oxygen machine. She has oxygen because she has COPD and she recently had a mediastinoscopy procedure that affected her breathing temporarily. Her oxygen level is normally 94-94 but sometimes can drop to 87 at lowest when she's not on the oxygen machine so it's important the oxygen machine is always plugged in.
-Because she gets tired, she has trouble keeping up with her meds and could use help eating her meals from the fridge and taking her pills on time. Preferences for a caregiver who is comfortable with pets.
