I comply (by law) to the same safety requirements as any other certified daycare, such as Cornerstones, where I also work (mainly on the weekends). Once a month, my apartment is inspected to make sure everything is safe and meet the best standards for your child/children. The spacious apartment is specifically designed for kids: it's clean, bright, and safe. Please read more below about our activities and fun. I currently take care of several children - some full time, some part-time although full-time is preferable. I'm also CPR/First Aid Certified. About Me: I grew up in the Dominican Republic, where I studied then worked in the fashion industry. In 1995, I came to the U.S. and began working in New York at neighborhood Work-Play summer program in Brooklyn while also working on Broadway Avenue. I worked with kids ages 4-12, focusing on education, which included arts and crafts and teaching them the Spanish language. Then, in 2010, I became a permanent resident of the U.S. and moved to Virginia with my family, while continuing to work in childcare field as taking care of a disabled person for seven years. I am a proud mother of three and have wonderful husband. During the day, he is working and she is at school. I prefer working at my apartment rather than Cornerstones mainly because it makes it more of a cozy, fun and "home" experience for the children. We have lots of activities to enjoy: we play with a various assortment of toys, eat healthy foods and snacks (by your approval), do arts-and-crafts, etc. and I also follow the parent's schedule for naps, meal-time, and food sensitivities. You're also welcome to bring your own food for you child/children. I also offer the USDA food program. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and I make sure to set aside time each day for my family. Additionally, one of my favorite hobbies is painting. When living in the D.R., I sold my art at a tourist port of Punta Cana. I like to incorporate arts as a way of teaching children and focus on learning though different forms of education while also having lots of fun!
