I am a group family daycare provider in my home. I have been in business for 19 years. I have 1 assistant and we care for no more than 12 plus 2 school age at any time. We run a preschool program and offer daycare services. I am mother and grandmother. I love children and love to watch them learn and grow. We have two classrooms infant room and Preschool room. I have my CDA and Infant toddler credential, staff is CPR and First aid certified and receives ongoing training as well. Library comes once a month and reads to children as well as leaves us with a bag full of books and puzzles to enjoy for the month. We go outside everyday in all weather, our outside classroom consist of a drama area with stage, art area, water play during summer, garden for kids to plant and enjoy home grown vegetables,, music, reading area and sand and dirt area with outdoor play kitchen. We give your child the experience of a center based daycare and the love and nurturing of a home the best of both worlds. My program has been in the quality stars program since it was a pilot program. Feel free to call to set up an appointment or if you have any questions.

This is the best of both worlds between center based and home daycare. The space is a renovated two car garage that creates a classroom setting and baby room. Having two providers creates oversight and there is a structured day with no tv. In addition Donna goes out of her way to personalize the care to every child and both herself and Tiffany are so loving with the children and the consistency of caregiver could never be matched at a center. Donna prioritizes outdoor time having an outdoor classroom and doing water play every day in the summer. Both my girls are currently enrolled there and we've been very happy.

Summerfield Child Care

74 Summerfield Drive, Holtsville, NY

Starting at $3.35/hr

At Summerfield Child Care Center it is our mission to provide a creative, nurturing and stimulating atmosphere in which children are active participants. We offer an environment where children feel free to explore their uniqueness while learning through play in a multi-sensory way. Our talented, energetic, and professional staff work together to positively impact the quality of life of the families in our community.

We believe education is based on beliefs about human development and human relationships. At the core is respect; for each person, for all life, and for their environment. Respect for each child s uniqueness leads to trust, essential for learning and growth.

Each human is a uniquely endowed individual having a whole life in a whole learning environment. Teaching and learning are inseparable. Learning and growth are what happens when people work and play together. Learning about oneself is part of learning about others, not about winning or competition. Therefore, your child will not necessarily be bringing home a project each day. His or her entire day is a learning experience, whether it is on the playground or eating lunch. The process of learning is more important than the product.

Children need ample time and space to explore and work at their own pace and learning style. Classroom experiences are designed to encourage involvement and risk taking using multi-sensory materials. As children make appropriate choices and are involved in their work they acquire a positive attitude toward learning. Learning is great fun!
